Erasmus Mundus MA Special and Inclusive Education

Erasmus Mundus MA Special and Inclusive Education

This 16-month full-time programme is taught in English in the UK, Norway and the Czech Republic. It is an EU-approved programme with three partners:

  • Roehampton University (London, UK)
  • University of Oslo (Oslo, Norway)
  • Charles University (Prague, Czech Republic).
The programme also offers an optional third country placement in either South Africa or Malaysia:
  • Universiti Sains Malaysia (USM), Penang, Malaysia
  • University of KwaZulu-Natal (UKZN) in Durban, South Africa
The final award is a joint degree between all the EU partner universities. The EU partners equally contribute to the whole programme and share responsibility for its delivery.

Students spend equal time in each EU country completing taught modules in the partner institutions. The programme requires successful completion of 90 ECTS (UK equivalent is 180 credits at masters level).

The programme starts in London in September with a formal induction programme involving all EU partners and the students are then taught in London until December. In January the group goes to Oslo (Norway) where they are based until March.  From April until June, students go to Prague (Czech Republic) to complete their last taught module.

Students are then based in the most appropriate country to complete their dissertations over the remaining six months. During this time there is an opportunity to spend 2 months (Aug-Sept) at a university in a third country, either USM in Malaysia or UKZN in South Africa where students will be able to engage in comparative study. The third country experience is optional for students and takes place during academic term time in the third country institutions.

See the full programme details for 2011 entry.
